Millennium Platform Services is responsible for a diverse set of services that are central to the Oracle Health Millennium Electronic Medical Record. MPS Engineering is responsible for R&D and building the next generation of health care platform evolving from on-prem to cloud native services. These services provide critical functions ranging from lab results and documents to generating and printing a legal medical record document. Responsibilities

What?

We are a hands-on Principal Software Engineer that shares our passion and excitement of operating distributed systems at hyper scale. This position is specifically focused on our Print Services within the Output Management group. It owns all aspects of printing for health care systems. Printing is vitally important in healthcare in its usage for items such as patient wristbands and specimen labels.

You will be at the beginning of transforming the print system from current legacy systems to a first-class, cloud native output management system which is manageable, supportable and scalable with OCI. You will work closely with both other software developers and site reliability engineers in understanding client needs and building a system to meet them.

The ideal candidate has experience with the Windows and Unix print management systems, IPP, and cloud platforms. We believe in ownership and expect you to think long term, mentor, and empower other engineers.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design, and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in computer science, or equivalent

  • 7-12+ years of developing and shipping enterprise distributed and/or cloud native systems.

  • Strong grasp of system design fundamentals and distributed systems architectural best practices

  • Demonstrated ability to write great code in C++, Java or similar OO languages.

  • Experience with web service design.

  • Strong desire to make an impact and thrive in collaborative and energetic environments.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts verbally and through design aspects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of databases, Linux systems, Windows print management systems, Unix print management systems, and IPP.

  • Experience with OCI or other cloud platforms

  • Experience troubleshooting issues impacting large scale service architecture and application stacks.

  • Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.

  • Eligible for United States Federal Security clearance

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
