M.S. Walker Production Line Associate in Boston, Massachusetts
$1200 SIGN-ON BONUS*
Leading wine and spirits distributor, M.S. Walker, is seeking a general worker for their fast-paced manufacturing facility. The Production Line Associate will be responsible for safe and efficient operation of machinery and/or equipment to include but not be limited to uncasing, case packing, sealing, coding, labeling, palletizing and the warehousing of our manufactured goods.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.
- Bonus: $300 at 30 calendar days, $400 at 60 calendar days, and $500 upon joining the Union (estimated 4 months of work)
Responsibilities:
Work as a team to consistently meet the daily packaging schedule
Safely and efficiently operate machinery and equipment associated with cold fill bottling and packaging lines such as uncaser, unscrambler, case packer, inkjet shipper coding equipment, case labeling equipment, case sealing equipment and palletizing equipment
Record production data and quality control checks on daily production log sheets
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by maintaining proper housekeeping: clean-up and re-packaging of glass breakage, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and other tasks related to general sanitation
Operate machinery such as standing forklift, sitting forklift, electrical jack, manual hand jack, and other forms of powered equipment as deemed necessary to accomplish work tasks
Coordinate with maintenance team when equipment challenges arise
Management of label room and label room inventory
Follow standard operating procedures, good manufacturing practices, and company policies
Perform and understand quality control procedures and line qualifications standards
Work in a safe and efficient manner adhering to OSHA compliant standards and Federal/State regulations
Comply with M.S Walker, Inc. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards
Accomplish other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
1 year of prior experience in a manufacturing, packaging, or warehouse experience
Proficient knowledge of bottling operations and raw material inventory
Knowledge of all packaging standard operating procedures
Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications
Self-starter with the ability to work and think independently with minimum supervision
Ability to work well as part of a team
Willingness and ability to work overtime or shift normally scheduled hours based on business needs
Solid verbal, written, and communication skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time (up to 10 hours), walk, bend, squat, sit and lift overhead repetitively
Able to work outside as well as in hot and cold environments
Frequently climb stairs and occasionally work on platforms < 20 feet
Ability to become forklift certified
Attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
Valid MA driver's license. (Required for driving a forklift in MA)
Focus on quality control and safety
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to wear proper PPE equipment
