About the Role

Responsible for preparing standardized recipes and menus for all congregate care programs involved in the USDA National School Breakfast, Lunch and After School Snack programs. Provide support and education to food service staff and congregate care program staff in assuring the nutritional health of clients with particular focus on residents who are at health risk.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares and plans cycle menus for all congregate care programs.

  • Ensure food orders are aligned with the menu and meet DESE nutritional requirements.

  • Distributes and sizes recipes appropriate to program size.

  • Develops base food production records for schools and review completed food production records for nutritional compliance.

  • Assists programs with Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE) compliance to National School Breakfast, Lunch and After School Snack programs.

  • Conducts nutrition assessment for congregate care clients referred by their clinicians on a as needed basis. Sets goals and track progress with client and clinician.

  • Ensure food service staff maintain a current ServSafe certification and Food Allergen certification.

  • Ensure food service staff meet their DESE required training hours for their position.

  • Provides nutrition/wellness education to clients/families and staff, as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Driving Requirements

  • May be required to operate a vehicle

  • May be required to have a valid driver’s license and a “satisfactory” driving record

  • May be required to have access to a personal vehicle for use during work hours

Education and Experience

  • Registered Dietitian

  • Computer literate including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer with the ability to learn new software applications.
