This terrific Insurance company is seeking a full-time Senior Re-Insurance Accountant. You will join a top firm, very lucrative business in a position that will play a key part in the Finance team. This position is 100% remote and you will be responsible for Reinsurance balance sheet, month end accrual entries and year end support!
The Reinsurance Accountant will work with Actuarial and Accounting team, ensuring adequacy of reserves and allowances as well as developing relationships with Reinsurers and Brokers to support the collection and resolution of all disputed reinsurance balances.
Key responsibilities:
Review and establish procedures for all aspects of the reinsurance processing.
Record and reconciling paid and ceded calculations,
Colleting outstanding open receivable balances
Recording billed and applying cash receipts to the appropriate recoverable balances
Reconciling G/L and reinsurance systems balances
Month end close activities.
Year-end support
Manage external relationships with system service providers, outsourced G/L management, Regulators, reinsurers ad Brokers.
Lead from an accounting perspective the implementation of revised Reinsurance processes as needed.
Participate in the legal resolution of disputed balances.
Requirements
Requirements:
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
8-10+ years of experience in risk management, reinsurance and/or P& C Accounting/Finance
Detailed and have the ability work independently.
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required.
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines.
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills.
