Boston University RESEARCH TECHNICIAN, School of Medicine, Microbiology in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The Griffiths group seeks an enthusiastic and motivated Research Technician to work toward developing vaccines and therapeutics for the most dangerous pathogens. Much of our work occurs in the Maximum Containment (BSL-4) laboratory at NEIDL and we will train you to work safely with viruses like Ebola virus, Lassa virus, and Nipah virus. The Research Technician's work includes virus characterization, developing and performing assays, and analyzing data. It is typical for data generated by Research Technicians to be included in published papers and for the Research Technician to be an author.

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of experience. Experience organizing and analyzing data evaluating efficacy of vaccines and therapeutics. Must be able to pass health and security checks to permit work in BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratories with select agent viruses.
