SCHEDULE: 40 hours, Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
LOCATION: All Pine Street Inn Properties On-Site Required
JOB DESCRIPTION:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Supervisor of Supportive Housing Maintenance is responsible for all maintenance, repair and grounds-keeping for all Congregate and Low Threshold Housing. Housing units are in scattered locations across the Greater Boston areas including Dorchester, Boston, Waltham, Mattapan, Roxbury, Malden, Chelsea and Jamaica Plain.
This position will ensure that work orders are completed in a timely and professional manner, and that vendors and contractors have appropriate oversight while on PSI property. The Supervisor of Supportive Housing Maintenance will work closely with the Associate Director of Supportive Housing Maintenance to provide timely and complete communication to appropriate staff as to the status of scheduled projects, inspections, and emergency issues to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
.Pine Street Inn operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Consequently, it will be necessary to work on holidays on occasion, be on call (on a regularly scheduled basis) and be present during snow and weather emergencies.

REQUIRED:
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver-s license
PREFERRED:
Associates degree
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
Minimum of five (5) years of facility or operations on a supervisory level
PREFERRED:
Knowledge of preventative maintenance, work order data base and safety / OSHA training
MENTAL ABILITIES/SKILLS:
REQUIRED:
Individual must have excellent organizational skills, be a good communicator and have good interpersonal skills

Ability to work with a diverse population
The ability to solve problems creatively while meeting deadlines
Ability to prioritize and handle several projects at once
Flexibility, common sense and patience are a must
Basic database knowledge
PHYSICAL ABILITIES/SKILLS:
REQUIRED:
Ability to climb stairs and ladders and to access all areas of all buildings
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to sit at a desk and computer terminal for occasional extensive periods of time
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Manage change and continue to be innovated and purse positive change to make the department more efficient.
Prioritize and assign work orders to maintenance staff through Prism work order data base
Maintain work order data base and ensure all work orders are updated and completed in a timely manor
Maintain a preventive maintenance program for all mechanicals, operating and property areas through the Prsim work order data base
Assesses staffing needs and balances work load for 7 day per week operation, including vacation and holiday coverage.
Ensures staff are maintaining and tracking supply inventory appropriately.
Ensures compliance with safe and sanitary working conditions, applicable building codes, and public safety standards.
Updates the Associate Director if Supportive Housing Maintenance on any concerns or issues with budget, supply staffing or performance issues.
Addresses inappropriate behavior through the use of proper judgment, program rules and standards, personnel policies and recourse to the progressive discipline procedure as necessary.
Perform other additional assignments or projects as requested/directed by supervisor
