We’re looking for an Optical Test Engineer to join the Snap Lab Team at Snap Inc!
What you’ll do:
Factory issues triage
Calibration of optoelectronic test stations in a laboratory and factory environment
Develop and maintain calibration schedule of lab, factory and partner test stations and equipment
Manage 3D printing, machine shop jobs: both hands on and with external partners
Hands-on work with optomechanical benchtop equipment
Read and debug python code
GRR execution and analysis
Data processing and analysis in JMP
Handling delicate optics and electronics
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Self-motivated individual
Experience in a optical engineering laboratory environment
Programing experience (any language)
Comfortable with command line terminals
Microsoft Windows environment
Cloud based office software (Google Workspace, MS 365)
Strong documentation and communication skills
100% local (not remote) Boulder, CO and in-office.
Ocasional International travel required
Minimum Qualifications:
BS Optics, Physics or equivalent experience.
1-3 years of experience in optical testing or optical related work (collegiate or professional level)
Occasional International travel will be required
Preferred Qualifications:
Optical testing and handling understanding
Basic Image processing knowledge or experience
Agile environments and issue tracking software (e.g. Jira, Asana) knowledge or experience
Python, numpy, OpenCV, Pandas, SQL knowledge or experience
Git/GitHub, collaborative software development environment knowledge or experience

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
Zone A (CA, WA, NYC) (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :
The base salary range for this position is $104,000-$156,000 annually.
Zone B (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :
The base salary range for this position is $99,000-$148,000 annually.
Zone C (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :
The base salary range for this position is $88,000-$133,000 annually.
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
