Actalent Technical Writer in Boulder, Colorado

Automation manufacturer is seeking a Technical Writer to join their growing team! Technical writer needed to join team and partner with engineering and sales to get operational manuals and process documentation set up and keep it up to date. Ideal candidate will have previous experience working with engineering and sales teams.

Requirements:

  • 2-3+ years experience as a technical writer

  • Experience making customer-facing manuals for any product, equipment or machines preferred

  • Experience documenting engineering processes

  • Strong writing/documentation skills

  • MS Word/PDF

Technical Writer:

  • Someone with 3-5 years of technical writing experience

  • Experience with Windows Server, Networking hardware and software

  • Experience with Life Cycle management and managing product End of Life processes

  • Experience delivering documentation to both internal stakeholders and government agencies

  • Experience with aviation equipment a plus

  • Experience with Scrum and Agile software tools like Jira and Confluence

  • This will be a hybrid role (3 days in-office, 2 WFH)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years related experience in electronics or similar field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Hands-on experience with electronics and telecommunications systems, including analog and digital communication protocols such as RS232/485 and TCP/IP.

  • Proficiency with applications and software, including Windows Server operating system installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Understanding of software architecture and ability write simple scripts is preferred.

  • Technical documentation skills, including the ability to read and create technical documents, engineering drawings, and circuit diagrams in support of customer manuals

  • Proven customer relationship management skills and experience including working with government customers

  • Willingness and ability to work independently with focused direction from the Program Team while adding value and contributing to overall team performance

  • Effective interpersonal skills”
