Colorado Animal Specialty & Emergency (CASE) in Boulder, CO, is a leading provider of specialty and 24-hour emergency veterinary services in Boulder. We are currently seeking a Veterinary Pain Management and Rehab Technician to join our team!
General Overview:
In this Pain Management and Rehabilitation role, you will collaborate closely with the Pain Management and Rehabilitation team to deliver exceptional patient care while supporting all CASE departments, doctors, and hospital staff. Serving as a key liaison, you will play a vital role in addressing the needs of the entire CASE organization.

Compensation:
$25 - $40 based on experience and skills assessment
Duties & Responsibilities:
Proficiency in creating patient estimates and treatment plan formulation for neurological patients
Proficiency in obtaining patient medical history
Proficiency in admitting and discharging patients within the service
Demonstrate exceptional client communication and education as well as assistance with scheduling appointments, procedures and advanced imaging
Practices proper and safe patient restraint of the patient
Proficient in performing general venipuncture and peripheral catheter placement
Pain Management and Rehab related Skill Set & Responsibilities:
Accurately assess pain level in patients using behavioral and physical signs, including pain scales
Monitor patient response to pain medications and report changes
Chart potential sources of pain through patient examination
Set-up, breakdown and use of a treadmill
Set-up, breakdown and use of rehab equipment
Set-up, breakdown and use of the laser machines and other equipment
Anesthesia-related Skill Set & Responsibilities:
Perform pre-anesthesia examinations to determine safety and risk for anesthetic cases
Implement prescribed anesthetic plans from pre-anesthesia through recovery including monitoring throughout
Develop proposed analgesic plans for cases using multimodal pain management techniques
Understand and use CASE anesthesia monitoring forms/protocols
Proficiency in setting up and troubleshooting anesthesia machinery
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with at least 2 years of applicable experience
At least 1 year of experience within a specialty veterinary hospital required
Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures and terminology
Ability to communicate well with other CASE staff members
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
Ability to work independently and with little or no supervision
Ability to multi-task and produce quality work while making effective decisions
