Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Electrical & Automation (E&A) Manager to join our team at the Boué factory where we make Infant Formulae.

Your role will be to ensure competent MES-E&A management and operation and to provide support for Nestlé’s Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Electrical and Automation professional and technical operational activities (inc. CAPEX projects) in line with corporate guidelines; whilst ensuring that all MES-E&A activities enhance business objectives and plant operational performance without compromising health and safety, product quality, or the environment.

A typical working day of a Site Electrical & Automation Manager

Reporting to the Factory Engineer, you will be part of a collaborative team passionate about improving factory operations. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead, train, and mentor the factory electrical and automation team.

  • Manage the factory electrical and automation infrastructure from design through to installation, maintenance, operation, improvement and upgrade as part of a site electrical and automation strategy.

  • Participates in Capital Investments projects in the factory ensuring that the technical solution follows corporate and market standards.

  • Responsible for preparation of the user and technical specifications.

  • Ensure that the Change Management is in place to appropriately manage modifications in the MES-E&A solutions.

  • Play a key role in the continuous improvement of the factory through mastering the process and product characteristics.

  • Supervise and coordinate Automation and MES maintenance and project work by electricians and contractors.

  • Co-ordinate with Production, Quality Management and Engineering to resolve Automation and MES issues.

  • Develop a deep insight of the processes, and continuously strive for the improvement of quality, safety or efficiency while protecting the technological know-how and competitive advantage.

  • Participates in the implementation of engineering and digital tools at site level

  • Ensure that all MES-E&A installations comply with market and corporate safety, health, environment, product safety and product quality standards.

  • Ensures that the key MES-E&A documentation is up to date and in place (i.e. SLD, URS, FDS, Calibration procedures, etc.). Participates in the M&I activities in the factory.

  • Create the competencies (CBP) of the Electrical & Automation team.

What Will Make You Successful

To be successful in this key role we expect you to ideally have experience working in a FMCG food or similar industrial automation environment and have a strong service orientation amongst internal stakeholders with lots of proactive initiative and attention to detail.

Other experiences and attributes would include:

  • Bachelor of engineering in relevant field (Electrical / Automation / Mechatronics)

  • Detailed knowledge of PC, PLC, Database and SCADA Systems.

  • PLC and HMI Programming

  • Rockwell Automation equipment (Allen Bradley)

  • Wonderware InTouch development

  • Software development including FAS, PLC and HMI

  • Data transfer, communication and networking systems

  • Strong and highly developed electrical and automation fault finding and problem analysis.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work on own initiative and implement CAPEX projects

  • Experience in project management an advantage

  • Experience working in a multifunctional team (operations, safety, quality)

  • Fluent in French and English.
