The Mahurin Honors College invites applicants for the position of Academic Advisor. WKU is a progressive institution that seeks candidates possessing the same qualities. The Mahurin Honors College seeks an outgoing, proactive, detail-oriented person, with creative problem- solving abilities. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Academics within the Mahurin Honors College.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as advisor for the Mahurin Honors College scholars including meeting face-to-face or by zoom with approximately 400 students per semester.

  • Maintains academic records to audit seniors in preparation for graduation,

  • Maintains academic records in relation to good-standing and warning semesters,

  • Assists both students and staff with honors augmentations, study abroad credit, transfer credit, internship credit and other official MHC forms and processes,

  • Assists with preparing students for graduation ceremonies every semester to include assisting with the logistics of the ceremony,

  • Collaborates with colleagues in the Academic & Career Development Center and Topper Orientation Programs on advising activities, and

  • Supports student programming and events as needed.

    Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

    Additional Information:

Salary Range: $38,000 to $42,000
