The Gordon Ford College of Business Professional Development Specialist provides students with assistance in their short and long-term career goals by providing career guidance; conducting skills assessments; engaging students in career planning; assisting students with preparation for the job search; connecting students with potential employers; and providing classroom instruction as qualified.
Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities
Provide educational pathway guidance that meets the students short and long-term career goals
Counsel students and alumni on career planning and academic major choice
Job Search Preparation
Educate and coach undergraduate and graduate students on job search skills, resume development, cover letter development, career portfolios, and interview preparation
Career Coaching-Related Classroom presentations
Career Coaching-Related presentations to student organizations, Greek life, and ISEC, to build rapport with students, including first generation students
Build collaborative relationships with employers, faculty, staff, and the community to meet the career needs of students and alumni
Career Fair Organization and Facilitation
Table set up at events where applicable
Continued Professional Development through NACE or other organizations for higher education career development personnel
Consult and communicate with ACDC when applicable
Classroom instruction as qualifications allow
Perform other related duties as assigned

Salary Range: $43,896 - $45,000
