About the Role
At Essity Technology aims at setting strong Technology strategy to bring our Personal Care and Tissue businesses to a new level.
In this context, we are looking for a Technology Area Engineer/Manager for our Technology category Incontinence care. Position holder will have overall responsibility to provide global machine technology solutions that meets cost, performance, safety and lead time requirements in assigned projects and all other activities with a significant impact on Essitys global manufacturing base.
The role holds the responsibility to support in developing the global machine platform strategys and to execute the strategic targets and objectives in any assigned projects or activities through partnership and cooperation with internal project teams and external machine suppliers.
The location for this positi is Bowling Green, KY.
What you will do
Set the standard for the technologyin innovationandcapacity projects.Make sure technology delivers on safety,process capability and performanceto secureapredictablestartup;
Set the development planand verify process solutions in close collaboration with chosen suppliers,R&Dand I-teamsin assigned innovation, capacityand enabling projects.Make sure supplier can deliver according to contract and the overall project delivers on time, scope and financials;
Secure manufacturability aspects in assigned projects, resulting in a minimized investment need, reduced manufacturing complexity, reduced size change over times, etc.;
Contribute to the development ofmanufacturable productspecifications;
Support feasibility studies, representing full supply chain;
Set up Technology Requirement Specification to secure a good andwell-definedequipmentdelivery and input to contract.Make sure project plan allow for sourcing / negotiations in a good way;
Provide input to Capex requests documentation regarding full technology scope including equipment, installation,startupsupport;
Take responsibility for planning and execution of production system validations, including definition of acceptancecriteria;
Understand and balanceBusinessUnitsand Manufacturing compelling businessneedsin assigned projects.Participate and actively contribute to develop the strategic machine platforms;
Actively steer and develop strategic machine suppliers within assigned projects, in line with available supplier performance GAP analysis;
Manage technology related intellectual property topics within projects. Both by securing that proposed solutions are not infringing external Intellectual Property rights as well as capturing any opportunity for filing new Essity patents.
Who you are
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Science, Mechanical, Electrical or related fields;
Experience from manufacturing operations, technology and/ or R&D (Preferably 5 years but there is an openness for different levels). Suitable backgrounds for candidates for this role are technical managers, project managers, industrial engineers, production managers, process engineers or department manager (or other positions with an experience of technology development in manufacturing companies);
Commercial and financial knowledge to prepare, manage and forecast operational and CAPEX requests;
International work orientation or experience;
Experience from external supplier relations;
Experience in quality assurance methods (E.g. Six Sigma);
Knowledge ofReliability Engineeringmethod;
Experience in managing a multi-functional international team (even not direct reports) in challenging work environments;
Stakeholder Management;
Root cause analysis;
Demonstratedleadership in the area of leading self and others;
Fluency in English, both verbal and written skills.
Furthermore, you are a team player and build trust in an open environment by involving others. You demonstrate a sense of urgency with a winning attitude and perseverance.
Please note that the level of experience of the successful candidate will determine if he or she will be hired into an Engineer or Manager position.
