Our work depends on a Cyber Security Analyst / Information Assurance joining our team to support the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) program. VAERS is a post-marketing surveillance system that monitors adverse events that occur after a vaccine has been administered.
This is a fully remote role!
Responsibilities
Provide Information Security for systems that support the operations of the CDC required by FISMA.
Provide support by facilitating and assisting CDC system stewards and other staff in meeting their Information Systems Security compliance responsibilities.
Support Certification & Accreditation activities
Support Vulnerability Assessments
Support Privacy Impact Assessments
Support Security Incident Response and Continuous Monitoring
Support Security Training Requirements
Integrate Security with EA, EPLC, and COOP Services
REQUIRED Skills/Experience:
Bachelors and 5+ years related experience
Experience with Certification & Accreditations, Incidence response, Vulnerability Assessments, and Privacy Impact Assessments
Experience working in a cloud environment, i.e. Fedramp systems
Knowledge of NIST security controls
DESIRED Skills/Experience:
Experience working with CDC strongly preferred
Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
A self-starter with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
Solid work ethic, with the ability to self-manage workload and deliverables under tight deadlines
