The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

About the Role

Your Responsibilities

  • Supervise Quality Technician.

  • Assure AQP tasks are completed.

  • Full involvement in AQP meetings.

  • Prepare new programs process sign off documentation.

  • Assure process and product capability on all new programs prior to launch.

  • Assure all above information is included in control plans where appropriate.

  • Conduct/Assist department audits

  • Follow packaging approval.

  • Maintain follow-up of new and current programs:

  • FMEA & control plan changes as needed.

  • Analysis of SPC and follow through as needed.

  • Follow concerns as they arise from customers.

  • Recommend/implement/assist process improvements.

  • Help with customer corrective action plan development.

  • Review and update Job Instructions.

  • Responsible for Process/Control Plan Audits.

  • Responsible for Containment (GP-12) certifications.

Who we are looking for

  • Prefer five years’ experience in automotive manufacturing dealing with quality related issues.

  • Quality Engineering certificate, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent quality experience.

Your preferred qualifications

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft software and strong computer background including data entry.

  • Strong math and reading skills.

  • Understanding of IATF 16949.

  • Good interpersonal, organizational, and record keeping skills.

  • Good understanding of SPC and data presentation.

  • Understanding of Control Plans, PFMEA’s and Process Flows.

  • GD&T and blueprint & technical writing.

  • Understanding of process flow and standardized work instructions.

  • Proficient in the use of mechanical inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, go/no go gages, and other mechanical inspection equipment is required

  • Manufacturing, inspection and auditing experience.

  • Ability to prioritize inspection workload and other tasks.

  • Experience with containment process.

  • Compliance with the attendance and disciplinary policies.

  • Ability to pass Vision Test.

  • Ability to work OT and weekends with little to no notice.
