Position Details

General Statement

The Director of Creative Services oversees all content related to promoting the athletic department and individual teams through video, print & electronic outlets. Member of the athletic department External team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of Graphic Design for MSU Athletic Department, creating the look and feel of the MSU Athletic Department, which includes oversee all aspects of design work through Marketing, Media Relations & Individual Sports.

  • Game Day Fan Engagement Assets including but not limited to run out videos for Football, Men’s & Women’s Basketball. Hype Videos for individual sports.

  • Marketing & Advertising elements such as commercials, promotional videos, email and social media design.

  • Graphic Design, including creation of department look and feel for each year from posters to online media posts. Oversee all aspects of Graphic Design work, including the Marketing & Media Relations Department to maintain consistency and message for MSU Athletics.

  • Oversee all aspects of photography for MSU Athletics, including, but not limited to taking photos for events, headshots, team photo shoots. This might include outsourcing freelance photographers or hiring student workers to take photos for the MSU Athletic Department.

  • Oversee Student & Graduate Interns.

    Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.

  • At least one year of full-time/or two years of internship experience in a related field.

  • Demonstrated aptitude in film editing, Adobe Creative Suite, Graphic Design, Live sports film experience or similar programs.

  • Demonstrated experience interacting with a diverse constituency using excellent interpersonal communications skills, both written and customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic NCAA rules and regulations.

    Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience working within a collegiate athletic department.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic Big Sky Conference rules and regulations.

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrated digital marketing and operations skills.

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Knowledge of current video and still photography equipment.

  • Experience working with revenue generation groups such as marketing and fund raising.

    The Successful Candidate Will

The successful candidate will be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays and must be willing to travel with teams occasionally.
