Actalent Quality Engineer in Branford, Connecticut

Our client, a leader in aerospace manufacturing is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team in Branford, CT.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the products produced meet quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations and quality requirements.

  • Manage all quality-related issues within the operations team (e.g. internal, supplier, customer, and customer warranty).

  • Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection.

  • Collaborate with Operations and Manufacturing Engineers to develop and implement process controls and improvements.

  • Create, revise and improve quality standards, procedures, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, and documents.

  • Monitor and report on quality-related key performance indicators including scrap monitoring, rework levels, parts per million (PPM) figures.

  • Stop production in the event of manufacture of unacceptable products/processes.

  • Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management systems and regulations (ISO9001/AS9100, AS13100, NADCAP).

  • Analyze and summarize data; present data to internal and external audiences.

  • Develop action items and recommendations based on data reviewed.

  • Participate in or lead the Quality Clinic / MRB activities.

  • Report to management on quality issues, trends, and losses.

  • Create, monitor and manage corrective actions reporting to customers.

  • Lead or participate in internal and external quality audits.

  • Participate in various training as required.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities.

  • Analyze internal and customer NCs to find root causes and implement CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
