The Clerical Aassistant will be responsible primarily for assisting the Attorneys and Legal Assistants. The Clerical Assistant will be expected to communicate with the attorneys, business partners, courts and opposing counsel in litigation matters; The ideal candidate will enjoy a high-volume, paperless environment that is both dynamic and rewarding. The Clerical Assistant may be asked to occasionally work in-office depending on business need.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Utilize and maintain office equipment, manage electronic files and work with large volumes of documents, make copies upon request and other duties as assigned• Assist in overall support of the office as needed which could include: scanning, case matching, mail handling, photocopying, limited filing, CD duplication, PDF compilation, file conversion and etc.

• Assist with overflow work as needed in addition to locating, pulling and distributing file materials and information as well as maintaining office files, maintaining the master calendar and to make copies upon request• Calendaring of court appearances and related events; and will be expected to ensure that form letters and templates are used correctly as needed

• Schedules depositions with needed parties• The Clerical Assistant will be expected to communicate effectively with attorney requests from all officesQUALIFICATIONS:• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, Outlook, Word, and Excel• Effectively manage multiple projects, use time management skills and independent judgment in a high- volume environment• Demonstrated efficiency, productivity and attention to detail, strong organizational skills and accuracy• Basic knowledge of Workers Compensation legal terminology is a plus• Must have prior calendar management experience• Ability to work on strict and short deadlines; able to set priorities and deal effectively with shifting priorities• Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information and use diplomacy in written and verbal communication with internal and external clients

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$32,000 - $48,000
