Location/Division Specific Information

We are a research, development, and production site in Bremen currently, with over 500 employees, and our “high-end” measurement and analysis instruments (mass spectrometers) are used in research and science worldwide. Our innovative products in the fields of Life Sciences MS and Inorganic MS, as well as Trace Elemental Analysis, are among the leading products globally in their respective markets.

A Day in the Life:

  • Develop high precision analytical instruments (mass spectrometers and gas chromatographs) in a team of engineering specialists

  • Collaborate with a globally distributed team to tackle complex design and engineering challenges.

  • Undertake mechanical design tasks, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective solutions.

  • Participate in product development processes, from initial concept through to final testing and field service.

  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to drive innovation.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.

Experience

  • Extensive professional experience in designing high-quality mechanical parts and assemblies as part of complex multi-component systems.

  • Solid understanding of Product Development Practices, Processes, and Tools, preferably in the context of sophisticated analytical instruments.

  • Strong mechanical engineering background with extensive knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and materials.

  • Ability to assess and understand the impact of vibrations, static and dynamic loads on chassis systems.

  • Experience in developing modular designs, considering key operational functions such as assembly, field service, and final test.

  • Preferably, experience in structural simulation to enhance design optimization and performance analysis.

  • Experience in ‘should cost’ analysis of mechanical components and assemblies.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • A strong desire to overcome boundaries in science and technology, showcasing enthusiasm and passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to work in a cost-conscious, effective, and autonomous manner, demonstrating the ability to drive efficiency, achieve goals, and make strategic decisions with cost-effectiveness in mind.

  • Embrace a growth mindset, demonstrating a willingness to learn, adapt, and continuously improve to drive innovation and success in product development.

  • Effective in open collaboration and communication with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Proven extensive experience in 3-D solid modeling; SolidWorks preferred.

  • Good written and oral communication skills in both German and English.

  • Good knowledge of Windows and Office programs.
