Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (NUCLEAR) in the Radiological Engineering Division, Radiological Control Office, of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will provide technical expertise as a specialist in the field of radiological controls and nuclear systems as well as providing advisory and planning services on specific problems and projects. You will provide information and radiological technical guidance and project management to nuclear engineers and nuclear engineering technicians for preparation of plans and procedures and for the advancement of corporate radiological initiatives. You will monitor work sequences and radiological control procedures involved in the overhaul of nuclear systems You will develop new technical methods to improve radiological work practices and radiation control procedures. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For the GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying technical engineering methods and techniques to develop, interpret, and advise on radiological control processes and procedures in support of nuclear systems maintenance and testing to identify operational deficiencies and formulate corrective actions. For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying technical engineering methods and techniques to provide guidance on radiological control processes and procedures in support of nuclear system maintenance and testing to identify operational deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
