Commander, Navy Installations LEAD POLICE OFFICER in Bremerton, Washington

Summary You will serve as a LEAD POLICE OFFICER in the Force Protection Division of NAVBASE KITSAP SEC DET. Responsibilities You will conduct preliminary and non-criminal investigations in compliance with probable cause requirements. You will carry firearms or other weapons authorized for a specific jurisdiction. You will conduct investigations through record checks, interviews, surveillance, or other methods to ascertain any criminal activity. You will identify course of action to be taken in emergency situations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing law enforcement (LE), physical security (PS), antiterrorism (AT), and force protection (FP) functions; 2) Identifying/Deploying specialized or advanced techniques, equipment, knowledge, and/or training pertaining to law enforcement and security; 3) Conducting preliminary and/or ongoing investigations of incidents; and 4) Documenting law enforcement and security events and the issuance of citations. NOTE: All experience must be fully demonstrated in your resume to be considered for the position. You must qualify and maintain qualifications for assignment to Nuclear Fuels Security Force duties when directed for refueling and defueling (RF/DF) operations in accordance with NAVSEAINST 9210.22E. This qualification is required prior to being selected. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. You must complete a DoD approved Police Training Academy or equivalent course, a federal or military police academy, or equivalent law enforcement training. You must also complete any annual sustainment training, Level 1 Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) contamination training, and OC refresher training.
