Danone Filler Operator in Bridgeton, New Jersey

Operate and constantly monitor the filler machines to achieve production goals, and to identify and alert maintenance and management of mechanical and operational issues, ensure the fillers are consistently stocked with packaging to maintain steady production, perform all quality control checks such as: monitoring the temperature of the product, monitoring and recording carton weights, performing carton dye checks, testing peroxide residuals, and other quality checks as needed, maintain the filler area and all equipment in a clean and sanitary manner to include efficient and thorough CIP, the exterior cleaning of equipment, and manual cleaning of non-CIP equipment, and other equipment used in filler room, perform preventative and autonomous maintenance tasks such as changing gaskets and filters, replacing suction cups, performing CIL's, deep cleaning to identify defects on the equipment, log shift events such as downtime sheets, weight control sheets, filler logs, CIP checklists, Informance Downtime, defect logs, must attend, and participate in daily shift meetings, strict adherence to Good Manufacturing practices, other duties as assigned by the supervisor or team lead, relieve personnel for breaks, lunch, meetings, and other activities as assigned by supervisor or team lead, coverage of other areas or departments to meet business needs

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: * High School Diploma/GED required; one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience * Experience in Food Manufacturing/Production environment preferred

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITITES: * Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals, ability to read, comprehend and follow simple instructions, ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, and small group situations, to customers, clients and other employees of the organization, ability to hear and perceive information at normal spoke word levels

  • Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Possess the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

  • Must have the ability to apply commonsense and understanding when carrying out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions, must have the ability to prioritize and organize

  • Must have the ability to demonstrate superb decision-making skills to determine the best course of action when performing the responsibilities of the job

  • Must demonstrate the ability to identify potential challenges with the process and when to notify the chain of command to prevent process failures

  • Basic computer skills, knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), knowledge of CIP (clean in progress) procedures, knowledge of safety programs and procedures, available and willing to be contacted by phone in the event of an emergency and be able to work flexible schedules including weekends, late shifts, night shift, holidays and overtime, occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds
