Intermountain Health Emergency Department EKG Tech & Interpreter in Brighton, Colorado
Job Description:
To respond to and to perform non-invasive cardiac EKG diagnostic tests on hospital inpatients and outpatients. To provide quality handling of test data, and to assist physicians in accurate testing. The incumbent will work with allied medical professionals and networked Intermountain Healthcare facilities. Technicians will work with physicians to provide quality EKGs.

Schedule: Mid-shift; Noon - Midnight
Scope
Instructs and prepares patients and equipment for tests.
Performs EEG and Evoked Potential testing on patients of all ages in the EEG Department or at the patients bedside. Determines and selects recording parameters based on each patients diagnosis or complaint.
Takes recording, analyzes data, and, with assistance, prepares results for physician. Studies wave characteristics during test to detect evidence of brain disorders.
Completes checklists, writes clear narratives and/or enters data into computer files as appropriate. Completes transcription and accurately processes physician orders according to policy.
Performs routine maintenance on equipment.
Promotes mission, vision, and values of IntermountainL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need.
May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience working in healthcare
Must take and pass the Intermountain Healthcare EKG course and pass off associated skills within four months of hire (or take the first class offered after hire date)
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
One year of experience working as an EEG technician

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$19.97 - $29.74
