At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft. We have an new exciting and career defining opportunity for a Facilities Engineer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering projects for the introduction of new building facilities, services and equipment at our Filton & Western Approach Sites in Bristol. You will be able to demonstrate a strong background of Mechanical & Electrical equiptment Installation projects, with a good understanding of Civils work.

How You'll Contribute

The Facilities Engineer will be accountable for:

  • Project management and delivery of medium to large concurrent projects, safely and within budget

  • Liaise with and guide stakeholders to deliver project objectives and best value to GKN

  • Prepare estimates and quotations

  • Manage Tender analysi, appointment/ Management of contractor/s throughout the project

  • Ensure regulatory compliance in manageing contractors, RAMS, PTW etc.

  • Responsible for budgetary tracking and management of project budgets

  • Management of process from specification / tender/ contractor control / acceptance

  • Proactive management of stakeholder communications

  • Compile and collate final project documentation, 'As Built' drawing as per internal processes

  • Ensure that all projects are managed in accordance with company policy and procedures

What You'll Bring

To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and expertise/ talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

Essential

  • Project Management experience in a manufacturing environment

  • CDM Regulations Knowledge

  • Sound Understanding of electrical & mechanical systems/ services

  • Excellent planning, risk & mitigation skills

  • Commercial & Contractual awareness

  • Sound understanding of building & facilities infrastructure

  • Microsoft packages proficient

Desirable

  • An Electrical or mechanical HNC/ HND or equivalent is preferred

  • IOSH or NEBOSH certification

The successful applicant will be a proactive and organised commercially focused individual. You will possess excellent communication skills alongside being self motivated and have the ability to work autonomously.
