    What the role will involve

    An integral part of the finance team, the Finance Business Partner will be embedded within the project teams as the conduit between the project, operations and finance team. Responsible for all areas of program finance including preparing, managing and directing the control of the budget for large and/or complex programs. Working alongside the project managers, you will perform tailored analysis and provide insight into project performance to aid decision making that ensures contracts achieve their required financial performance whilst maintaining strong financial governance.

    The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

  • Budgeting, forecasting and reporting of the project/programme portfolio, including revenue, operating income and cash

  • Monthly P&L review, providing financial insight and understanding of performance

  • Collaborating with the wider finance team to help forecast cash flow and other treasury requirements

  • Prepare estimate to complete (ETC)/estimate at completion (EAC) from program staff input

  • Oversight and challenge of the project EACs to ensure the accuracy of revenue and profit recognition in accordance with accounting standards

  • Process improvement activities to enhance the financial support provided, seeking to develop and automate MI reporting

  • Assist the project team with the preparation for the monthly program reviews

  • Participate in presentations and group discussions at internal and external financial and/or project meetings as required

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the organisation to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

    What you’ll bring

    The role of Finance Business Partner requires the following experience and skills:

  • Be minimum part-qualified

  • Have significant QBE experience in programme finance

  • Hold strong previous Finance Business Partnering experience

  • Be comfortable presenting to all levels within the business

  • Have advanced MS Office Suite skills including Excel Modelling

  • Have a proactive approach to problem solving
