Job Title: No. 2 Printer

Reports to: Production Manager

Job Purpose

No.2 operator of the Printing machine is fully responsible for the quality of product produced, in parallel with the No.1 Operator, ensuring optimum run speeds and maximising machine efficiencies with the minimum amount of waste. The ability to adapt, be inquisitive and work closely with all departments and peers is crucial to the success of this role.

Role Responsibilities

This role will be a mixture of both Forklift driving as well as warehouse responsibilities. A typical day could include, but is not limited to:

• Check all resources are available for production of next job. If not report any deficiency to

• No.1 Operator, Supervisor or Line Manager.

• Make ready the machine with the assistance of the No.1 and No.3 operatives.

• Operate the machine in accordance with the standard operating procedures.

• Check each load for quality, and take any necessary corrective action/s.

• Operate machine at optimum run speed.

• Maintain good quality product.

• Be totally competent with machine aids/tools etc (densitometers and conductivity meters).

• Operate machine/equipment in a safe manner ensuring the safety of all employees.

• Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and on time (completion of timesheets, job

• bags, load tickets and maintenance request forms etc).

• Be responsible for the general cleanliness and housekeeping in and around machine area.

• Ensure operator maintenances are carried out in the proper manner.

• Be responsible for organising the crew to meet maximum efficiency.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

• Microsoft Office packages experience.

• Knowledge and experience as a plant operator - in an industrial / factory environment.

• A strong appreciation of and regard for Quality and Safety.

• Flexible working attitude and a strong team working approach.

• Good written and oral communication skills.

• Knowledge of 5S to improve production environment.

• Understanding of KPI’s to track performance.
