At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft. We have an new exciting and career defining opportunity for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer. Although this role will be site based the position requires regular travel to meet with suppliers. The succesful candidate will be Regularly monitoring the quality performance of suppliers, perform reviews and take actions depending on the cause of any problem (such as assessments, problem solving activities etc) to secure continuous compliance.
How You'll Contribute
⦁ To engineer and communicate the product and system requirements to the Supplier. Participate and orchestra the plan for qualification (FAI and/or PPAP) from the supplier to achieve a qualified product on time. ⦁ Manage the supply chain out of a Quality performance aspect, serve as the liaison for suppliers, suggest structural quality and process improvements, and collaborate with other engineers in a team environment. ⦁ In close cooperation with manufacturing engineering/experts/process engineers/Supplier, ensure that all requirements (product/system/routines/timeline) is understood and that the supplier have all the capabilities in place to meet them (including PPR to assure Quality before production start) ⦁ Assure and monitor Product Risk mitigation and Quality planning/control at supplier (APQP, PPAP) ⦁ Manage Engineering Source Substantiation (ESS) activities at Supplier with designing organisation ⦁ Review Supplier First Article- Communicate to SQE at Designing Organisation (a SQE in a designing organisation also Approve the FAI). ⦁ Have frequent contact with supplier to monitor actions within Quality ⦁ Analyse suppliers’ quality performance and identify improvement areas. Drive improvement activities ⦁ Handle supplier non-conformance and escape including root cause investigation, containment and corrective actions, 8D, in order to be up-to date with the supplier performance ⦁ Issue authorizations of “Request for Pre-Release” ⦁ Participate in supplier work transfer evaluation and monitoring ⦁ Perform/Follow up supplier assessments, industrial reviews and evaluations when qualified ⦁ Support concurrent engineering between GKN and supplier (design for manufacturing) ⦁ Support cost engineering/cost reduction activities by interacting with booth supplier and GKN ME/design/technical experts ⦁ Support in supplier feedback ⦁ Evaluate and approve of new release agents and monitor Release Agent Performance

Essential
⦁ Strong experience in aerospace quality requirements (AS9100, NADCAP, customer requirements etc.) ⦁ Skilled in root cause analysis, 8D and continuous improvement ⦁ Knowledgeable in PPAP and APQP ⦁ Knowledgeable in AS13XXX-standards ⦁ Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and interaction between Purchasing and Engineering in Product Development ⦁ Well organized and structured with strong skills to work both independently, and in a team ⦁ Target-oriented and outgoing with good communication skills ⦁ Knowledge of aerospace products, processes and technologies ⦁ Experience and skilled with Microsoft office, and ERP systems
Desirable ⦁ Soft Leadership skills such as e.g. Recognition, Coaching and Constructive feedback ⦁ Experience from Supplier quality positions ⦁ Experience in manufacturing engineering/production, preferably product qualification activities or inspection/control
