We have full and part-time roles of 20 or 30 hours per week in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire area; we’re happy to discuss hours and availability with you. You’ll support children and young adults either on a one-to-one or two-to-one basis, both at home in the family setting and in the community.
The children and young people we support are between the age of 5 and 25. They have a diverse range of needs and some individuals have more complex needs. You’ll support a number of children at different times; adapting your approach to their individual needs and goals. In one day you might support one young person for a few hours and then another individual and their family in a different location.
You might provide support before or after school, for example to take someone for a sports lesson, or you could be supporting parents during the school holidays. You’ll work closely with families and specialists, building up strong relationships and collaborating to work out the right combination of health, social and educational support for each child.
The role involves some day-time working hours as well as early evenings and weekends.
There is also an opportunity to join our Bank staff to work within our inclusion play schemes in the summer holidays at four venues in South Gloucestershire.
You’re compassionate, you love working with people and are able to build relationships based on trust, respect and consideration. Patient and understanding of people’s varied needs you’re a confident problem solver and a creative thinker with good communication skills, you overcome challenges with commitment and enthusiasm. Experience of working with children is desirable, but not essential.
You’ll need to be flexible around shifts and weekend work. A full driving licence is essential, and you'll need to use your own vehicle on business (mileage expenses will be paid).

You have the option of working additional hours or sleep-ins in a range of services - paid at £50-£70 extra per sleep-in.
