Saint-Gobain Quality Engineer II in BRISTOL, Rhode Island

The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring 100% customer satisfaction by implementing effective quality methods and processes in collaboration with their team. This team could include the Aerospace or Automotive markets. The Senior Quality Engineer will have ownership for understanding and implementing all market (AS-9100 / IATF-16949) and customer quality requirements within their given team. There may be times when this position will be called upon to support other teams within the site as well. The Senior Quality Engineer will supervise a team of 8-10 Quality Technicians and Screeners at the site; coaching and mentoring them to meet quality standards. They will develop inspection processes (both digital and manual) to ensure 100% compliance with all customer drawings and other specifications. Additionally, the Senior Quality Engineer will participate in the site WCM Pillar Team for Quality and Process Control and support any WCM projects related to quality. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other teams to ensure successful implementation of quality methods and processes. They should have a thorough understanding of market and customer quality requirements, as well as experience in developing and implementing inspection processes. The Senior Quality Engineer will play a key role in ensuring that the site meets and exceeds customer expectations.Education:

Bachelor Degree: Technical Degree - Required

Master’s Degree: Technical Degree in an engineering discipline or quality - Preferred

Work Experience:

4+ years’ Experience: In a quality function in a manufacturing environment -

Required

3+ years’ Experience: Aerospace or Automotive-related Manufacturing Environment - Preferred

3+ years’ Experience: Leadership Experience (non-exempt stakeholders) - Preferred

Practical/Technical Knowledge:

Knowledge of AS-9100 IATF-16949, APQP, PPAP - Required

Understanding of modern quality inspection equipment and tools - Required

Expertise in problem solving methodologies and continuous improvement techniques - Required

Must have initiative, strong organizational and decision-making skills, and a high degree of customer orientation - Required

Expertise in Industrial 4.0 areas such a vision systems, automated inspection, and data analysis - Preferred

Experience in supervision of quality personnel - Preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

Six-Sigma/Lean Manufacturing Green Belt Certification - Preferred

ASQ CQE or CQT or CQA - PreferredCertain states require pay information be provided in job postings. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $79,500 to $123,400 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus.

The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,450 to $135,740.
