Manure Truck Driver

Company Description: Schiley Field Services, LLC is a family owned and operated business that is located near Webster/Lily, SD area. We specialize in custom livestock manure hauling and spreading for customers in the surrounding areas.

Job Summary: The Manure Truck Driver position will perform various duties that involve driving trucks, hauling manure to spreading locations, and assisting in the application of manure at the specified spreading areas. At times, this person may need to operate a payloader to self-load a manure truck if an operator is not available on the job site. This role also includes performing routine truck/tractor, and trailer maintenance as required. This is a seasonal position that has part-time or full-time hours available. There is potential for this position to be full-time year-round for the right candidate. Work hours are roughly 7am - 5pm Monday - Friday; hours and workdays may vary. We offer competitive pay. Pay will be discussed with the hiring manager during the initial job offer conversation and will be determined based upon prior experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Involves hauling manure from livestock areas to the spreading units and assisting in the application of manure onto the designated fields for soil fertilization.
  • This role also includes performing truck, tractor, or trailer maintenance as required.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by effectively communicating with customers, co-workers, and management.
  • It is essential that the individual is initiative-taking to complete hauling jobs in a timely manner.
  • Regular and consistent attendance.
  • Drive manure truck, load, haul, and spread manure according to company guidelines, ensuring all loads are logged accurately.
  • Regularly clean truck cabs and truck boxes/beaters as needed.
  • Report damages or needed repairs to management immediately.
  • Complete daily equipment inspection before use each day.
  • Adhere to safe work practices.

Job Skills and Qualifications: Required:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Will need to obtain a valid driver's license and no more than two moving violations in the last five years.
  • Flexible schedule (may need to work longer hours or weekends due to circumstances such as meeting job deadlines, unforeseen weather conditions, scheduling, etc.).
  • Must be able to perform the required work with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred:

  • The ability to operate heavy equipment (payloader, tractors, etc.).
  • Mechanical experience is a plus.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
