Position: Assistant Project Manager Job Description: Join Parsons as an Assistant Project Manager and play a crucial role in supporting the growth of our Project Management Services in Western Canada. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience and advance your career within a dynamic and supportive environment.In this role, you will collaborate closely within the Project Management Service department and other Organizational departments or units in Western Canada such as Proposals Capture Manager, Project Managers , Project Tech, Engineers and Project Control assisting in the delivery of projects through all phases, including inception, planning, design, execution, and closeout and contributing to proposals. Your contributions will help develop and execute innovative solutions that enhance our community and support company and department growth. .Parsons' experience in this field, combined with your project coordination skills, will propel your career and leadership opportunities forward. We are seeking Assistant Project Managers who are versatile and enthusiastic about working in highly flexible, team-oriented environments, and who possess exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills with exposure to recent technologies used in the field such as Artificial intelligence Tools. Key Responsibilities:
Business Development, Strategic Initiatives and Process Improvement:
Participate in departmental initiatives to refine and improve project delivery processes.
Commit to obtain Parsons Project Management Certificate.
Assist with internal project management controls to address client needs.
Engage and Participate in Proposal submission, such as Work Plan, Methodologies and Bio Write up for Project teams and Project Fact Sheets.
Project Management:
Manage multiple complex projects, overseeing scope, deliverables, risks, budgets, and schedules.
Create project charters and plans that align with client objectives and work assignments.
Lead various project management activities, including project team meetings and engagement initiatives Maintaining and preparing Project Documentation and Meeting Minutes and Project related communications.
Effectively manage and follow up on Assigned Tasks with relevant project resources to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Develop and execute comprehensive internal and external communication plans.
Build and maintain robust stakeholder relationships to meet project objectives.
Lead consultation sessions with stakeholders, including Indigenous communities.
Engage in Indigenous Relations consultation activities and Land Acquisition negotiations.
Deliver project presentations and provide professional advice to key stakeholders.
Team Collaboration and Leadership:
Support Senior Project Managers and Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle.
Contribute to building relationships with clients and preparing proposal documentation.
Working with managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to developing budgets, schedules, and plans.
Mentor team members, fostering growth and encouraging a collaborative environment.
Navigate change management processes with confidence and resilience.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Geography, Urban Planning, Project Management, Construction Technology, Public Administration, or a related field, with at least 4 years of project management experience in the relevant field.
Option 2: Diploma from a college or technical school in a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
Option 3: Secondary school graduation (or equivalent) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Solid implementation of project management methodologies as advocated by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
Experienced in delivering Municipal and Ministry Project across Western Canada.
Demonstrated strategic decision-making abilities.
Experience managing multiple Projects of different scale.
Ability to manage and lead interdisciplinary teams of professionals.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, effectively conveying complex information.
Experience preparing correspondence, reports, and presentations for government and senior personnel.
Exceptional time and workload management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
Good understanding of the design process for infrastructure projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications:
Possession of the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or Assistant Project Management Professional (APM) or eligibility and commitment to achieve it within 12 months of joining our team.
Experience:
Experience with British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (BC MoTi) projects is considered an asset. Familiarity with alliance models, Design-Build, and Design-Bid-Build project delivery methods.
Prior experience in Indigenous consultation with Indigenous communities.
Proven record of accomplishment managing major infrastructure projects to successful completion.
Experience in project cost tracking and budget management.
Experience in Construction Supervision and Management is considered an Asset.
Strong understanding and ability to apply generative AI with day-to-day tasks.

Salary Range:
$24.71 - $45.96
