Oracle Software Developer - Service Metadata in BRNO, Czech Republic

Job Description

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join the Service Metadata team at Oracle-NetSuite in Brno. Being part of our team will give you an opportunity to have a direct and significant impact on the foundation upon which Oracle NetSuite is built - dealing with challenges in scalability, concurrency, high availability, and the definition and configuration of our Service Infrastructure. Close cooperation with developers and test engineers from our team, and also other teams across the organization, will be on a daily basis. In this role, your main focus will be on helping us extending functionality of the newly introduced solution for updating, maintaining and sharing of operation critical metadata.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

  • 3+ years of software engineering or related experience

  • Experience with Java, Python and shell scripting

  • Self-motivated with great problem-solving skills and ability to understand functional requirements

  • Comfortable analyzing complex problems at all levels of the stack, on both client and server (OS, Network, JVM, Application/Browser/CLI, Storage)

  • Very good writing and verbal communication skills in English are required

  • Open mind for discussions and team collaboration

  • Willingness to often cross lines of ownership to see a solution through

  • Willingness to learn

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with container technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes

  • Experience with working in an Agile/SCRUM development team

  • Understanding of cloud-based distributed software applications
