The Team

The Desktop SEM Global Technical Support (GTS) team is responsible for the technical support of an installed base of >4000 instruments worldwide. We provide second line support to distributors across the world. We are actively involved in New Product Introduction projects offering feedback and support in the development phase, we provide feedback on production and quality issues, and we manage Process and Product Continuous Improvement projects on our exciting and innovative microscopy products!

The Position

As a Global Technical Support Specialist II, you will:

  • Be the technical expert on past and current products, being able to work hands on the systems, and troubleshooting and solving issues on mechanical, electrical, vacuum and electron optics modules.

  • Provide worldwide technical support on module and up to system level of Desktop SEM products.

  • Provide “root cause” analysis and actively take part in resolving technical issues.

  • Manage tasks and projects in the Technical Support Department to improve its efficiency.

  • Collect, analyze, and report data for the purpose of solving problems and improving company’s inner processes.

  • Provide technical communication between Production, R&D and GTS.

  • Perform postmortem analysis for solved support calls.

  • Cooperate on and lead continuous improvement processes.

  • Create and improve Work Instructions.

  • Seek opportunities to improve product quality.

  • Seek opportunities to lower the warranty cost based on collected data and analyses.

  • Keeping records about required tests and measurements.

  • Lead assigned GTS tasks, e.g. PPI, Service Documentation requests, CAPA, etc.

Requirements:

To be successful in this position you will need to:

  • Have a Master’s degree in Electronics or Mechatronics plus 1-3 years of experience or a combination of both education and meaningful work experience..

  • Display strong communication, written and verbal, and influencing skills including the ability to communicate sophisticated technical concepts to a variety of audiences.

  • Be proactive and customer focused.

  • Be fluent in English (minimum B2 level).

  • Be willing to travel internationally (up to 10% of your time).

  • Work independently as well as to collaborate in a team.

  • Have experience in project management.

  • Knowledge and experience in Product Data Management (ECR\O or NPI) is of an advantage.
