Resideo Environmental Product Engineer in BRNO MĚSTO, Czech Republic

The Environmental Product Engineer oversees product related environmental compliance at all stages of product life cycle, from the extraction of raw materials to production and use and finally to the waste phase.

This role provides environmental compliance guidance to the NPI project team as it relates to the development of new products globally. The position is accountable for interpreting product related environmental protection obligations (regulatory, customers, Resideo, stakeholders), advising the project team about the environmental compliance requirements and supporting the creation of the environmental protection requirement specification.

You will be responsible for technical leadership (processes & tools) and support to enable the development of environmentally sound products and the compliance of products and business with environmental protection obligations.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Identification of product related environmental protection obligations applicable to products and business within the markets / regions and applications specified by Design Engineering or Product Management

  • Provide support to New Product Introduction projects, guide the project teams to ensure that environmental protection aspects of new products are identified, assessed, and effectively managed, thru the applicable development phases.

  • Specify the compliance requirements and deliverables for identified environmental protection obligations by key functions accountable for the execution of deliverables and compliance

  • Validate the completion of deliverables and sign off the completion of the compliance tasks

  • Develop, implement and manage specific environmental / regulatory processes and tools for NPI & Legacy products

  • Read and interpret several extended producer responsibility obligations globally advising the business on how regulation changes imply to Resideo product lines

  • Analyse BOM for Environmental Product Compliance Regulations like RoHS, REACH, EU PoP, PFAS to answer customer requests for compliance declarations

  • Coordinate, participate and facilitate meetings and discussions, with cross functional groups within R&D, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, and other functions as needed to ensure cross-functional implementation of processes throughout the product development cycle.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • 3+ years' engineering experience in any technical discipline

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and bill of materials

  • Excellent communication and report writing skills

  • Fluent in English

  • Strong MS Office Suite skills
