New York Botanical Garden Assistant Shipping and Receiving Supervisor in Bronx, New York
The Assistant Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for receiving, tagging, and storing all incoming shop merchandise. This role also helps the Stockroom Supervisor fulfill daily shop requests for merchandise and maintain an organized, clean, and accessible stockroom. This role is responsible for pulling, safely packing, and shipping out all web orders in a timely manner as well as fulfilling customer service requests for detailed shipping and delivery information. This role works closely with the Warehouse Supervisor to accurately track inventory in Counterpoint for both shop and e-commerce.
Additionally, this position supports, through actions and conduct, NYBG’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility initiatives and helps to build and maintain an inclusive organization culture throughout the institution.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately receive and price all new merchandise arriving in the stockroom
Fulfill and ship all e-commerce orders
Stock shelves in a neat and organized fashion
Maintain a clean, orderly, organized stockroom
Collect and deliver merchandise as needed by shop staff
Answer customer service inquiries regarding shipping and delivery status
QUALIFICATIONS
Warehouse experience required, shipping/receiving experience preferred
Computer literate, familiarity with inventory software preferred
Detail oriented
Responsible and dependable
Friendly and pleasant demeanor
Flexibility re: duties, hours, weekends
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
The schedule for this position is 9am to 5pm Tuesday-Saturday
Salary is commensurate with experience within the following range: $44,256-$49,173
