Position summary:
Responsible for the general housekeeping of the DC warehouse, trailers and yard. Duties may include, but are not limited to the following tasks: performing cleaning duties; such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish, cleaning snow and/or debris from sidewalk. Notify management when need of routine repairs arise.
Position responsibilities/duties/functions/tasks:
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing or vacuuming floors using vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines. Emptying trash into compactors and dumpsters. Clean and restock restrooms. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. Clean windows, partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. Bailing cardboard and plastic. Work with water, commercial degreasers and detergents to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. Steam-clean or shampoo carpets. Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors. Follow procedures for the use of cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using electric pallet jacks and/or hand trucks. Rake leaves, sweep walks, mow and trim lawns and shrubbery, using mowers and hand and power trimmers, and clear debris from grounds. Notify managers concerning the need for repairs. Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spreading salt and sand. Notify supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables and chairs to prepare facilities for events such as luncheons and meetings. Use household grade Spray insecticides and foggers and traps to prevent insect and rodent infestation.
