Robert Half Field Technician in Brooklyn, New York

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Field Technician in the non-profit industry, located in Brooklyn, New York. As a Field Technician, you will be tasked with troubleshooting, maintaining, and configuring various equipment and software, as well as providing onsite support to end users.

Responsibilities:

• Respond promptly to incoming calls, emails, or pages regarding desktop problems.

• Perform onsite analysis and diagnosis of complex desktop problems and implement corrective solutions as needed.

• Install, configure, test, maintain, and monitor end-user workstations and related hardware and software.

• Administer and resolve issues with associated end-user workstation networking software products when required.

• Collaborate with network administrators to ensure the efficient operation of the desktop computing environment.

• Maintain an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, network equipment, and other components.

• Assist in developing and recommending long-term strategies for meeting future desktop hardware needs.

• Conduct research on desktop products in support of procurement and development efforts.

• Evaluate and recommend products for purchase.

• Write technical specifications for the purchase of PCs, desktop hardware, and related products.

• Accurately document instances of desktop equipment or component failure, repair, installation, and removal. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Field Technician in a non-profit environment

• Proficient in MS Windows, MS Windows 10, and MS Office 365

• Experience with onsite support, end-user support, and handling network issues

• Knowledgeable in network configuration, network connectivity, and working with network printers

• Expertise in working with PC hardware, network hardware, and laptop hardware

• Familiarity with Cisco technologies, Cisco hardware, router switches, and router configuration

• Proficiency with DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and terminals

• Ability to troubleshoot Wi-Fi issues and work with Cisco routers

• Must have excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills

• High degree of professionalism and ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must be willing to travel for field assignments and provide timely and efficient support. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
