Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and punctual phlebotomist with over one year of recent experience. The ideal candidate will be proficient with straight needles and comfortable performing venipunctures independently from day one. Strong communication skills are essential for this role. Bilingual Spanish proficiency is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment.
Update patient information as necessary.
Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture and other specimen collection processes to patients.
Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by the test order.
Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
Package specimens for transport.
Store specimen samples according to required temperatures, place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, accurately label, and follow necessary procedures to maintain the integrity of the specimens during transport.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 1 year of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Environment
The position is based at a Patient Service Center (PSC) in Brooklyn, NY, where you will see 30-50 patients daily. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM, and every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This is a part-time role, with 31.5 to 32 hours weekly.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00
