Overview

Staff Accountant

The W Management Group is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant for our Brooklyn Corporate Office. This individual will demonstrate the ability to manage and retain financial information by researching and analyzing accounts.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for reviewing and preparing financial statements. This position has great potential for upward mobility and career advancement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred not required

  • 2+ years of accounting experience.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proficient with QuickBooks

  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite with a strong focus on excel

  • Working knowledge of GAAP

  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills

  • Good problem-solving and time management skills

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

    Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.

  • Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.

  • Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.

  • Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conducting internal audits.

  • Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.

  • Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.

  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP.

    Annual Salary Range $50,000.00-$65,000.00
