FlexStaff is seeking a Temporary Junior Accountant to assist in the accounting department for one of our clients, nonprofit agency dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with psychiatric and developmental disabilities.
This is a temporary job until February 3, 2025.
In this role you would be responsible for accounting and bookkeeping as well as assisting the Controller and the CFO in the preparation of payroll reports and internal financial statements.
An ideal candidate would have a degree in accounting and at least two years' experience in general accounting and/or bookkeeping.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Ensures bank reconciliations are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Prepare accurate, financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the fiscal department.
Generates journal entries.
Prepares month end journal entries.
Corrects errors by posting and adjusting journal entries.
Provides general assistance during audits.
Serves as back up for payroll specialist and assist in entering payroll information in Paychex for at least one program per payroll cycle. Includes processing and monitoring voluntary deductions and garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specifications.
Serves as back up for entering short- and long-term disability claims into Paychex, and working in conjunction with HR regarding workmen's compensation and other employee related issues.
Maintains and updates daily/weekly/monthly reports for the CFO and Controller.

The salary range for this position is $30-$35/hour
