CAMBA Vice President of Security & Operations, CAMBA Gardens II in Brooklyn, New York

CAMBA’s Housing Services operates approximately 1,600 units of transitional, emergency, scattered site and permanent congregate housing.  These programs provide services to formerly homeless/special needs individuals and families including case management, crisis intervention, independent living skills training, recreation, socialization and other supports.

Reports To: Senior Vice-President

Location: 19th Winthrop (Official Office 560 Winthrop Street)

What The Vice President Does:

  • Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures.

  • Comply with any and all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy polices intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information.

  • Oversee security operations at designated CAMBA sites.

  • Develop and implement crisis prevention and/or intervention strategies to ensure a safe and secure environment.

  • Develop, implement and manage facility security and preventive maintenance plan with Program Directors of Security

  • Ensure security arrangements are in compliant with funder requirements by conducting, scheduling, planning and training of security staff within the security division.

  • Ensure staff maintain security equipment and tools, including surveillance systems.

  • Make recommendations to the appropriate Senior Vice President and CAO regarding organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.

  • Clearly communicate both CAMBA’s and funders’ policies, requirements, guidelines, and program performance targets to staff.

  • Ensure that all direct and subordinate staff complies with CAMBA’s and funders’ polices and rules.

  • Ensure that any disciplinary action taken, regarding staff, is in compliance with CAMBA’s disciplinary policy and procedure.

  • Ensure that all goals, targets, and performance outcomes are met on a monthly/cycle basis.

  • Develop and implement Quality Assurance measures to ensure quality service delivery to clients.

  • Supervise, review, and approve staffs’ and subordinates’ training, vacation and leave requests.

  • Approve staff’s travel and expense vouchers.

  • Review and sign time sheets.

  • Prepare performance appraisals for direct reporting staff and ensure review of the security divisions submitted performance appraisals.

  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all staff weekly/monthly/quarterly/semester/annual reports.

  • Prepare, review and submit weekly reports and statistical information for both senior management and funder use.

  • Analyze program and demographic data to make programmatic improvements.

  • Communicate with peers and direct reporting staff on issues related to client progress and best program practices.

  • Conduct regular staff meetings.

  • Confer with the appropriate Senior Vice-President and CAO as needed regarding programmatic and personnel issues.

  • Represent CAMBA at funder/outside agency/community meetings as requested.

  • Immediately report to the appropriate Senior Vice-President and CAO any: monitoring visits or funders’ events; significant events; any incident that might subject CAMBA to liability.

  • Make hiring and firing recommendations to appropriate Senior Vice-President and CAO in consultation and agreement with Human Resources.

  • Maintain professional relationships with staff and clients to ensure safety and client confidentiality.

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Masters degree (M.A.) and three to five years of supervisory experience and/or equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be fingerprinted and obtain Criminal History Checks” (CHC) with Justice Center for the Protection of Vulnerable People with Special Needs.

  • Ability to maintain fingerprint clearance throughout the duration of employment.

  • As a Mandated Reporter, you must immediately report suspected incidents/cases of abuse and neglect to the Vulnerable Persons Central Register (VPCR) Hotline at 1-855-373-2122 and complete a CAMBA Incident Report.

  • Ability to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Compensation: $125,000-$140,000 annually

When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.

 

Status: Full-time (35 hours per week)
