What is Youth Paid Work Experience:
The Youth Paid Work Experience Program offers young individuals ages 16 to 24 the chance to develop essential skills, explore career pathways, and build a strong foundation for future success. Duties: Lead and supervise axe-throwing sessions, ensuring participant safety and engagement. Teach proper axe-throwing techniques to individuals and groups of all skill levels. Enforce safety protocols and monitor participants to prevent accidents. Set up and maintain axe-throwing lanes, targets, and equipment. Provide a fun, energetic, and memorable experience for all guests. Facilitate group events such as team-building activities, parties, and competitions. Award prizes to groups (as applicable) and celebrate participant achievements. Handle basic cleaning and upkeep of the facility and equipment. Assist with event preparation, registration, and guest inquiries. Promote the business by creating a welcoming and enthusiastic environment.
Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required. Strong communication skills to effectively instruct and engage participants. Additional languages are a plus but not required.
Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with and engage people of varying skill levels, ages 13 and up. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Experience in customer service or recreational activities is preferred. Basic knowledge of axe- throwing (training will be provided for the right candidate). Ability to handle minor technical or maintenance tasks related to equipment. Schedule will vary based on event bookings and operational needs.
Special Requirements: Must be 18 years or older. Physical fitness to handle axes and stand for extended periods. Ability to lift 20-30 lbs to assist with targets and equipment setup. Willingness to complete safety training and certification (provided by employer). Friendly, positive attitude and passion for creating fun experiences.Other Information: Opportunities for tips and bonuses during group events. Ideal for those who enjoy working in a dynamic, interactive environment. Uniform or dress code will be provided and must be followed. Experience in recreational instruction or sports coaching is a bonus but not required.
