Job Description

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Catering Sales Manager for the beautiful Interlocken Resort & Spa!

Omni Hotels & Resorts was named one of the Best-Led Companies in 2024 by Glassdoor! Omni Interlocken Resort & Spa is seeking a Catering Sales Manager to join our outstanding sales team! This vital role will work closely with the Director of Catering & Conference Services and Hotel Leaders to provide support as a Wedding Specialist and will be responsible for ensuring booked Weddings and Events are in compliance with property policy while maintaining high standards of quality and service. This individual will be responsible for maintaining optimum guest satisfaction and meeting or exceeding overall profitability objectives. Salary for this position (based on experience): $65,000/year plus 25% bonus eligible. Full Time Associates at Omni Interlocken Resort are entitled to elect the following benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision and other healthcare benefits, Paid Maternity Leave, 401k and Paid Time Off Accrual. Omni Interlocken Resort reserves the right to pay more or less than listed compensation scale based on factors not related to sex or race.

Responsibilities

Solicitation of direct-selling in the Social and Corporate Catering markets which includes weddings, anual galas, corporate meetings and events, holiday parties and other social/corporate events. Event planning and detailing for booked events Maximize Catering revenues wherever possible. Communication of function-arrangement to all responsible hotel departments. Communication with clients prior to events to initiate, negotiate, and close on contracts for all catered functions. Creation of profitable menus and distribution of client expectations to Food & Beverage Departments. Coordinate Catering support services (flowers, entertainment, decoration, A/V, etc.) to provide complete client satisfaction. Physically double-check all function arrangements against specifications of client. Correct where necessary. Client contract and effective communication to ensure repeat bookings. Foster strong relationships with the local wedding planning industry Update and increase client prospects through active prospecting Maximize revenues for the hotel through p-selling techniques. Maintain relationships with local vendors and wedding planners Manage room blocks associated with any booked catering functions. Other duties as assigned by Director of Catering and/or Director of Sales & Marketing.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent. College degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years hotel catering sales and/or wedding planning experience. Knowledge of the operations of the hotel industry. Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative Sales Professional who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed Command of the English language both written and verbal, with the ability to demonstrate warmth and empathy when engaging with others. Must have proven selling, negotiating and presentation skills.
