BAE Systems Manager II, Financial Accounting and Reporting in Broomfield, Colorado

The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.

What You ll Do:

  • This position will report directly to the SMS Assistant Controller.

  • Lead the Financial Accounting & Reporting organization including the Financial Statement Close and Consolidation and Technical Accounting.

  • Recruit, develop, train, and mentor top Financial Accounting talent.

  • Ensure SMS Financial Accounting practices are consistent with IFRS and BAE policy, in all material respects.

  • Act as the primary BAE Space and Mission Systems Financial Accounting focal point for BAE Inc and Deloitte.

  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end financial statement close process.

  • Lead quarterly financial pre-close process including updating reserves and other estimates.

  • Work closely with Government Accounting to ensure accounting practices are in alignment with USG Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).

  • Provide leadership support for internal and external audits of Space and Mission System s Financial Statement Audits and Internal Controls.

  • Work closely with the Director of Financial Operations and Business Systems manager to ensure reliability of Financial Accounting systems and tools.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with all Finance Organizations on cross-functional issues.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with SBU and SSU leadership.

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor s degree in a related field plus 10 years or more related experience.

  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

  • Extensive Financial Accounting and Reporting experience.

  • Experience in Financial Accounting for an Aerospace & Defense Environment.

  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).

  • Advanced knowledge of Costpoint.

  • Superior presentation and verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Advanced degree.

  • Active CPA certification.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $124080.000 - $210980.000

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
