Please join Sulzer to lead and guide the Commercial Operations team in the EMEA region for Services Division as Head of Commercial Operations .

Part of your responsibility is to finish rolling out the Commercial Operations concept and transform, a factory centric tendering team, into a market-oriented proposals team that is better aligned with the customer and market

To successfully lead this organization and execute its mission, you will need to continually challenge status quo, make your way in highly paced and dynamic business and continually securing buy-in of different stakeholders at the division, region, and sub-region level.

In this role you will be accountable for

• The spare parts, duplicates and retrofits commercial proposals (PPR) in the region EMEA (additional product / offers may become part of the scope in the future e.g. repairs, LTSAs)

• Ensuring quotes meet company requirements in terms of pricing, margin, T&Cs, delegation of authority, export control, etc.

• Developing a commercial proposal strategy together with sub-regional sales leads and the prioritization of opportunities

• Assessing sub-regional team workload and ensure load is balanced / shared on peak times

• Owning the Go / No Go process for large opportunities, with clear guidelines to invest resources on high value opportunities

• Developing best practices, templates and processes to ensure offers have the same quality and look & feel regardless of the sub-region or product

• Developing and manage a standardized price calculation sheet across the Region (for larger projects)

• Ensuring full leverage of automation, synergies and technologies to bring down commercial operations costs and increase efficiencies

• Liaising with factory costing teams to ensure costing and delivery time are available

• Ensuring proper implementation of delegation of authority processes

• Analyzing internal and external data to identify specific markets trends, and derive sales leads (for this specific function there might be a direct reporting Analyst)

Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge Required

• Bring a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or business. An MBA would be a plus

• Have relevant work experience within a related industry

• Have very good experience of contract negotiation in a commercial environment

• Have the willingness to travel internationally

• Fluency in English is a must, other languages are a plus

The candidate we are looking for is preferably based close to one of our bigger facilities in Bruchsal (Germany), Madrid (Spain), Buchelay (France) or Leeds (UK). This can be a combination with home office.
