THE OPPORTUNITY
Are you passionate about driving sales and leading a dynamic team in the PET Retail industry?
As the Sales Manager PET Retail, you will play a pivotal role in achieving our budgeted net sales through a strategic and customer-centric approach. You will design and execute a comprehensive sales plan that includes negotiation, implementation, and management of our commercial policies.
Your leadership will be key in hiring, coaching, and developing a high-performing sales team, fostering collaboration across strategic disciplines to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
This role offers the chance to lead a dedicated team in alignment with our company’s values and guidelines, making a significant impact on our business and customer relationships.
This position is a field-based role (Belgium & Grand Duchy of Luxembourg) and reports directly to the Business Unit Manager AH Pets & Equine.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the Business Unit meets its financial goals by maximizing the productivity of the field force through effective CVM/customer targeting and tactical planning.
Lead, coach, develop, and motivate team members to ensure they perform optimally, providing them with the necessary support and advice to enhance customer centricity.
Align resources strategically to support and execute the business plan, fostering teamwork through cross-functional and cross-brand communications and projects.
Gather and analyze internal and external market information to make impactful decisions, while managing key sales networks and portfolios for both current and future needs.
Develop customer and channel-specific sales strategies to add market and brand value, building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and networks.
Provide high-level analysis of potential business opportunities using insights from market research, industry trends, and competitive intelligence, while monitoring product pricing and distribution policies in line with corporate guidelines.
Initiate projects and programs that produce favorable bottom-line results, planning robust sales and product supply forecasts to ensure business success.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM
Master’s degree (or Bachelor’s degree + work-related experience).
At least 2 years of experience in retail, preferably in animal health.
Experience in people management.
Demonstrated organization, planning, and project management skills, with solid decision-making and negotiation abilities.
Ability to travel, including overnight travel as needed.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop stakeholder relationships.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority, or gain buy-in from stakeholders to deliver results in a highly matrixed organization.
Entrepreneurial drive with a proven track record of exceeding financial and other quantitative goals, as well as qualitative goals.
Previous experience leading larger-scale business projects, including the development and implementation of plans and metrics, and achieving goals.
Fluency in English and either French or Dutch is required.
