Microsoft Corporation Operations Deal Manager in Bucharest, Romania

Operations Service Center, within Microsoft Business Operations, provides support for Volume Licensing, Industry Solutions and Unified customers to transact with Microsoft. We are accountable to drive and execute by pursuing process efficiency, timeliness, quality, and compliance, all while providing world class customer experience. We are looking for team members to join our team focused on delivering exceptional stakeholder and customer experience with deep expertise in contracting, order management, billing, supplier management and customer and partner engagement.

As a member of our team, you will coordinate and manage EMEA business-critical revenue processing functions. Our goal is to ensure consistent, repeatable processes on a global level while displaying customer experience skills to our internal and external clients. The Operations Deal Manager consults on multimillion transformational deals to help shape the future of new contract, billing, and other capabilities, ensuring that the processes are managed in a compliant and efficient manner. This role is accountable for driving operational excellence across Sales and Operations through the identification and creation of solutions to solve deficiencies, improve performance and maximize revenue. The successful candidate will be able to influence their business group priorities by acting as a facilitator between teams including business groups such as Legal and Corporate Affairs, Contracts and Negotiations, Credit and Collections, Finance and Processing and Deal Contract Assist.

This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home.

Responsibilities

Business Program Planning and Design

  • Supports and contributes to performing program landscape research and analysis (e.g., internal and/or external market, sales, delivery), forecasting, and examining business trends (e.g., customer feedback and expectations) to identify audience size and program scope, and stay current, agile, and competitive. Collaborates with others to understand overall business goals, objectives, and strategies, as well as short- and long-term business priorities. Understands and identifies current program risks, impact, and mitigation plans in collaboration with others.

  • Identifies internal opportunities to develop new programs and improve current ones with minimal guidance. Collaborates with others to identify root problems (e.g., root-cause analysis), define the program strategy, gather program requirements, identify resource needs, create the project plan and targets, and work across teams to align on the plan of record. Begins to improve operations of existing programs by applying industry methodology, defining program issues, assessing various scenarios, and selecting the optimal scenario to resolve issues. Drives clarity in program issues and strives for simplification.

  • Works with cross-functional (e.g., organizational, product, business) stakeholders (e.g., Engineering) to design programs from initiation to delivery with guidance. Collaborates to produce collateral (e.g., proposals, strategy walking deck, internal and external pitch content) to incorporate stakeholder needs and ensure the business objectives are met.

  • Supports and contributes to define and track the success criteria and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results [OKRs] and Key Performance Indicators [KPIs]), such as quality, adoption, usage, impact, and effectiveness for the program.

Business Program Excellence and Execution

  • Collaborates to define and execute on landing and communication plans, such as the target audience(s) and communication strategy. Begins to maintain the rhythm of business (ROB) during plan execution to ensure participants and stakeholders are communicating and responding according to the necessary cadence. Begins to independently work across teams (e.g., Landing, Design, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Technical Program Management) to ensure all program requirements are understood and can be met.

  • Works with others to evangelize programs to stakeholders, partners, and customers to gain buy in. Leverages data and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results [OKRs] and Key Performance Indicators [KPIs]) to demonstrate the value of the program and show business impact with minimal guidance. Begins to adapt communication style and storytelling strategy according to audience and business needs.

Business Program Management

  • Assists others who overlook a portfolio of projects including the project plan, timelines, milestones, financial management, performance metrics, and/or resource needs for programs. Communicates the program status to relevant stakeholders and holds them accountable for following the established schedule, and risk mitigation plans and processes, with minimal guidance.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of mapping or how systems work and impact one another. Collaborates with others who work with other teams (e.g., Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales) to ensure program processes are rigorous and executed efficiently. Helps develop processes around scope and scheduled changes for programs, and communicates them to stakeholders.

Business Program Evaluation and Improvement

  • Collaborates with others to conduct cost-benefit analyses to examine performance to value drivers (e.g., profit and loss [P&L], return on investment [ROI]). Begins to contribute to monthly business review (MBR) and begins to run rhythms regularly to identify what is working and what is not, and helps make improvements accordingly.

  • Begins to independently collect and evaluate success criteria and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results [OKRs] and Key Performance Indicators [KPIs]), such as acquisition, usage, impact, effectiveness, and customer feedback using scorecards and dashboards to monitor programs and ensure all activities align with business and program objectives. Collaborates with others to use data analytics (e.g., scenario analyses) to derive insights and training that help identify program risks and mitigation plans, as well as opportunities to streamline and optimize programs based on lessons learned.

  • With minimal guidance, utilizes direction and strategy from leadership regarding business area of expertise in order to execute plans that shift current priorities to new organizational initiatives and objectives, and influences others to change behavior accordingly with minimal guidance. Begins to help define vision and strategy for change, broad and specific impact, and the flow of communication to the organization. Begins to ensure buy in and adoption of the new program or change by others in the organization. Begins to develop the collateral required to enable key stakeholders and others to be on board. Begins to contribute to the training, reskilling, and mapping of individuals in partnership with Human Resources (HR).

Qualifications

Minimum/Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND extensive work experience in program management, process management, process improvement

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with similar industry Business Value deal constructions.

  • Experience with Microsoft licensing concepts, including contracts, quotes and invoices, as well as evaluation and review of complex proposals, agreements, and amendments.
