Prepare bees and beekeeping equipment. Split hives. Feed and medicate bees. Monitor, maintain and increase beehives. Load and unload beehives. Harvest, extract and package honey and other bee byproducts. Clean and sanitize honey extraction plant and equipment. Build and repair bee boxes and other beekeeping equipment. Winterize all beekeeping facilities and equipment at the end of the season.
Must be able to provide references to verify experience. No fear of/non-allergic to bees/pollen. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. repetitively.
A general work week is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, because of the complexity of the crop conditions workers may be requested to work long days as well as on Saturdays, Sundays or Federal Holidays, depending upon the conditions of the commodities being produced. Therefore, hours above 40 per week may be offered but are not guaranteed.
