Nutrition Frozen Foods Assistant

REPORTS TO: Nutrition Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Valid Ohio Drives License.
  2. Proof of Automobile liability insurance.
  3. Ability to read maps and operate GPS device/cell phone.
  4. Ability to work cooperatively with others, particularly elderly individuals.
  5. Ability to maintain a strong attendance record.
  6. Possess ability to work in challenging weather conditions.
  7. Possess good organizational skills and able to work under a specified timeline.
  8. Ability to monitor food items temperatures.
  9. High school diploma or equivalent.
  10. Capacity to enter client's homes and other potentially handicap inaccessible buildings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
  2. Must maintain a clean and neat appearance and practice good hygiene.
  3. Must be able to operate motor vehicle.
  4. Must be able to communicate with agency with cell phone or 2-way radio.
  5. Capacity to enter client's homes and other potentially handicap inaccessible buildings.

DUTIES:

Place specified number of prepackaged meals into delivery containers.

Must document and temperatures regularly.

Accurately deliver meals to clients and obtain any required signatures as needed.

Must collect donations from specified clients.

Communicate with nutrition department any problems, observations, questions etc. regarding meals program or consumers.

Perform kitchen, packing and cleaning duties as needed.

Responsible for tracking frozen inventory.

Responsible for label maker for frozen meals.

Responsible for counting daily donations collected from clients.

Serve congregate meals at specified meal sites when necessary (Bucyrus/Galion)

Responsible for signing route sheets returned by volunteer/paid drivers.

Responsible for billing route sheets.

Responsible for training new support staff assigned to the site.

Responsible for ordering/tracking inventory of paper products, cleaning supplies, etc.

Assist all volunteers with delivery bags.

Responsible for updating Volunteers as needed.

Must be willing to learn/document Monthly Summary for billing purposes.

Responsible for organizing meal choices from clients.
