Job Description
Position overview:
This will be a key role in our company-wide program office that supports the expansion of our shared services offerings to Thermo Fisher businesses. As a Coordinator, Project Management, you will have the unique opportunity to manage the execution of transitions, migrations, process improvement, automations, system implementations and other change and transformation programs. Your main focus will be on ensuring the successful delivery of these programs and overseeing project portfolios to meet the set goals. By collaborating with a wide range of partners within and outside of Global Business Services, you will play a crucial role in driving an integrated approach.
Major areas of responsibility:
Administers project governance bodies, project workstreams and interdependencies
Connects to project team members to ensure timely and quality program delivery across workstreams and businesses
Coordinates logistics of ideation sessions, feasibility studies, process assessments and design workshops; captures outcomes, prepares information and document discussions
Documents and maintains project plans and deliverables
Supports to lead and coordinate key calls and meetings required for projects, regardless scope (system implementations, migrations, transitions, process reengineering)
Helps planning of project phases, gathers requirements, coordinates the creation of any enabling documentation (Learning & Training needs, SOPs, Work Instructions, etc)
Follows the pre-defined methodology to follow-up any open risks, issues, actions and decisions
Captures and follows up on key risks, issues, actions, decisions and interdependencies to communicate to broader teams
Gathers project information, documents and communicates project status, results and barriers of project execution, track milestones to ensure timely completion
Supports weekly and monthly reporting cadence and ad-hoc reports- including exec level reports and presentations
Manages and reports the project portfolio of a specific business or workstream, drives portfolio progress, reports on the overall health and savings pipeline
Required education/experience:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably business related
Project Management knowledge (PMP, Prince2, Scrum, etc) is an advantage
2+ years involvement in projects
Experience in Finance operations (OTC, PTP, FA, Inventory) or Customer Service is preferred
GBS experience is highly desirable
Fluency in English (verbal and written)
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
Strong planning, organizational and time management skills
Experience working on projects and balancing multiple requirements simultaneously
Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills across all levels of the organization
Great teammate, able to work effectively with others
Good MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
